China, Croatia Forge Deeper Bilateral Cooperation
(MENAFN) In a high-level meeting held Monday in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation.
Wang, who also serves on the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that relations between China and Croatia have consistently been founded on mutual respect, equality, and win-win collaboration. He highlighted the success of their joint Belt and Road projects, calling the outcomes fruitful.
As China and Croatia mark 20 years since establishing a comprehensive cooperative partnership, Wang urged both nations to boost engagement across all levels, foster deeper mutual understanding and trust, and continue to uphold strong bilateral support. He stressed the importance of aligning China’s Belt and Road Initiative with Croatia’s national development goals, while also expanding cooperation in a wide range of sectors.
Wang further pointed out that China's engagement with Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) forms a key pillar of its broader relationship with the European Union.
Reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to openness, transparency, and mutual gain, he called for enhanced multilateral collaboration between the two nations. He also emphasized the need to uphold multilateralism and free trade as tools for tackling global issues.
Recognizing the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic ties, Wang stated that a stable and constructive relationship between China and the EU serves their shared interests. Beijing hopes that Croatia will remain an active and constructive force in advancing cooperation between China and the European Union, he said.
Radman agreed with Wang's remarks, highlighting that more than 30 years of diplomatic relations have fostered a solid partnership between China and Croatia, built on mutual respect and shared interests. He affirmed that the two countries have continued to enjoy steady and positive development in their bilateral ties.
