German Party Slams Trump’s Patriot Missile Plan
During a recent meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, US President Donald Trump introduced a strategy to deliver American-manufactured weaponry to Ukraine.
Under this proposal, European NATO countries would absorb the financial burden.
Trump further mentioned that “several nations” had expressed readiness to send Patriot anti-aircraft systems from their existing inventories.
Thoden denounced the proposal, arguing that the United States should bear the responsibility of supplying these systems to Kiev directly, rather than pressuring European NATO states to either fund the effort or further drain their own limited defense stocks.
“The US military has a sufficient number of Patriot air defense systems, and a free-of-charge transfer of a limited number would be easily feasible without compromising its own defense capability,” Thoden emphasized.
