Erdogan, Putin Urge Diplomacy Between Iran, Israel
In the call, Erdogan cautioned that the ongoing "cycle of violence" triggered by Israeli military actions against Iran poses a grave risk to the stability of the broader region, the directorate’s statement conveyed.
Erdogan further asserted that the Israeli administration under Netanyahu, by disregarding the "law," is presenting a direct menace to the global order.
He underlined that the Middle East is in no position to endure another conflict, the statement continued.
From the outset, Ankara has emphasized the significance of diplomatic engagement to halt the violence, Erdogan pointed out.
He reiterated that dialogue remains the only effective solution to the tensions with Iran and insisted that negotiations must recommence immediately.
He also highlighted the necessity of ensuring that Israel’s offensive actions toward Iran do not divert international focus from what he described as the ongoing "genocide in Gaza."
For his part, Putin underscored the pressing need to bring an end to the hostilities and to create room for diplomatic efforts.
Tensions in the region have surged since Friday, when Israel launched synchronized air assaults targeting various locations throughout Iran, including military and nuclear installations, which led Tehran to respond with counterstrikes.
