Israeli Warplanes Target Residential Areas in Tehran
An Iranian broadcaster, confirmed the airstrikes but did not disclose specifics regarding the targets or casualties inflicted.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli military directed residents of Tehran’s District 3—a zone housing government ministries and foreign embassies—to evacuate immediately ahead of anticipated new air raids.
“In the coming hours, the IDF (army) will operate in the region to attack military structures of the Iranian regime, as it has done across Tehran in recent days,” the military declared, adding a stark warning: “Your presence in this area puts your life in danger.”
This evacuation order marks the first of its kind for Tehran’s inhabitants since Friday, when Israel and Iran engaged in their most intense exchange of hostilities to date.
Tensions across the region have sharply escalated following Israel’s coordinated airstrikes on several Iranian targets—including military and nuclear sites—on Friday, which prompted retaliatory missile attacks by Tehran.
According to Israeli officials, Iranian missile strikes since Friday have caused at least 24 fatalities and left hundreds wounded. Meanwhile, Iran claims the Israeli assaults have resulted in a significantly higher toll, reporting at least 224 deaths and over 1,000 injuries.
This mounting violence signals a dangerous intensification in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
