Russia Announces Future Talks with US
Although a precise timeline has not yet been determined, Ryabkov, speaking to journalists in the coastal retreat of Sochi, emphasized that the meeting is likely to happen "very soon."
He stated, "The third round of bilateral consultations on irritants is imminent. Though it's premature to specify a date, I hope the round will take place very soon."
Ryabkov pointed out that, although some headway has been achieved, there still exists a wide spectrum of topics to be discussed, "varying in difficulty, though none of them are simple in relation to the US."
Since Donald Trump assumed the presidency of the United States, Moscow and Washington have already engaged in two diplomatic encounters in Istanbul — on February 27 and April 10 — aimed at restoring the functionality of their respective diplomatic entities and enhancing mutual relations.
During the most recent exchange, both parties reached a consensus to facilitate the travel procedures for their diplomats and to deliberate on the matter of seized Russian diplomatic assets located in the United States.
